Yeah, I guess I can be useful sometimes…

It’s like going back to school and not in a bad way! [World Quality Day]

Today we hosted the “World Quality Day” and I had the opportunity to listen and learn with two professors, one that changed me academically and another that tested me professionally.

To those two I have to thank.

PS: lets not forget that other one that saw me as a winning horse and continues to bet on me...
PS2: yeah, I'm a winning horse! Deal with it!
PS3: a video is coming but it's still rendering....

Obeya Table

Obeya means WAR! Is it more easy to understand what I mean with “obeya table”?

I have to be honest because I’m influenced by the concept “obeya room” that refers that all individuals involved in managerial planning meet in a “great room” to speed communication and decision-making. This is intended to reduce “departmental thinking” and improve on methods like email and social networking. The Obeya can be understood as a team spirit improvement tool at an administrative level. Being said this, let us transport this concept to the “obeya table”. 😀

One of the advantages of being n the middle of the information systems is to be able to closely deal with top management and participate in the company’s day-to-day life at many different levels. I have the sheer luck of having obtained their confidence and receive frequently challenges that keep ranging and testing my ability to improvise and create solutions, not only immediate solutions but also permanent ones.

This important place, that was already nicknamed “obeya table” by me, has seen many challenges that end up being overcome, despite the difficulties, a strong team of people that only need to know the problem to create the solutions, and not to create even more problems.

This is the most important thing for me: understanding the problem in order to create a solution.

To all the colleagues that allow me to sit on this table, to the colleagues, that work with me towards and end, I only want to say this:

“We traveled only 50% of the way so “lets get to work!”.

Utopia is coming to Braga (tease)

So FICIS ’15 happened and now what could we do?
Now we could walk towards an Utopia.

You don’t know what I’m talking about? Here is some help:

Utopia(/juːˈtoʊpiə/ yoo-toh-pee-ə) is a community or society possessing highly desirable or near perfect qualities. The word was coined by Sir Thomas More in Greek for his 1516 book Utopia (in Latin), describing a fictional island society in the Atlantic Ocean. The term has been used to describe both intentional communities that attempt to create an ideal society, and imagined societies portrayed in fiction.

I'm a teaser

Just a marriage proposal… inside a BUS.

Once upon a time, there was this cute couple that have met each other on a TUB BUS while going to school.

That couple used to travel together at least two times a day and started to create some strong connections and feelings about each other. They shared the same seats and conversations, their hands touched and on the backseat of that BUS their lips started something.

This was the story of Filipe and Sara and like some fairy tail it didn’t stopped here.

On the 23rd of july of 2015, and now being an adult couple, Filipe decided to make a step, and not a small one. He decided to propose to Sara, ask her hand, but as usual, Filipe wanted to do it on an unusual place but one that made perfect sense: inside a BUS next to those lovely backseats 😉 but how?

Once we’ve heard this lovely story we had to be part of it, we wanted to keep our presence on this couple’s lives.

This video shows the preparation of a Bus, following the careful instructions of Filipe that lead to the final request “Will you marry me?”.

And now? Well, now they lived happily ever after.

love happens at TUB 🙂

“TUB Mulher”, Women’s Day

As I found myself part of a team dedicated to the response of TUB to all kinds of events, the latest challenge was the Woman’s Day and it was decided to call this “TUB Mulher” (Woman TUB).

I must admit that I presented some concerns regarding this event, I thought we should have had some other priorities and that this event would not merit the time spent and I was VERY wrong but lets talk about other things first.

The plan for this event was extremely simple: deliver flowers with a symbolic message concerning the women’s day and create a special fare ticket of only one euro that offered the possibility to travel all day in city buses.

The event coverage would be my responsibility and the promotion of this activity would be in charge of two colleagues.

Why did I said that I was totally wrong before?

See the smile that I caught here:

I found amazing how a simple gesture turns a regular day as the most colorful day for many people.

Another interesting fact was that my photos have been used by the local media  :p

Yeahhhh, multitasking baby!!!!!

PS: It is necessary to stress that just because I do not agree with some project it does not mean that I won’t dedicate myself to it the same way.
